  1. Define WWW. Write the history of WWW?

WWW stands for World Wide Web, which is also known as a Web .It is a collection
of websites or web pages stored in web servers and connected to local computers through the
internet. These websites contain text pages, digital images, audios, videos, etc. Users can
access the content of these sites from any part of the world over the internet using their
devices such as computers, laptops etc. The WWW along with internet enables the retrieval
and display of text and media to your device.
HISTORY: The World Wide Web was invented by a British scientist, Tim Berners-Lee in

  1. He was working at CERN at that time. Originally, it was developed by him to full fill
    the need of automated information sharing between scientists across the world, so that they
    could easily share the data and results of their experiments and studies with each other.

the data in the form of plain text, hypertext, audio, video, and so on. This protocol is
known as HyperText Transfer Protocol because of its efficiency that allows us to use
it in a hypertext environment where there are jumps from one document to another
document. HTTP is similar to FTP. FTP stands for file transfer protocol as it also
transfers the files from one host to another host. But HTTP is simpler than FTP as
HTTP uses only one connection that is no control connection to transfer the files.

INTERNET DOMAINS:-

A domain name is a unique name that identifies. Each
website has a domain name that serves as an address, which is used to access the
website For example the domain name of the Sourav Computer Dictionary is
sourav.com. Whenever you visit a website, the domain name appears in the address
bar of the web browser. Some domain names are preceded by www which is not part
of the domain name while others omit the www prefix. All domain names have
a domain suffix, such as .com, .net, or .org.

INTERNET PROTOCOL – IP

IP stands for Internet Protocol. It is a protocol defined in the TCP/IP model used
for sending the packets from source to destination. The main task of IP is to deliver
the packets from source to the destination based on the IP addresses available in the
packet headers. IP defines the packet structure that hides the data which is to be
delivered as well as the addressing method that labels the datagram with a source and
destination information.
